The Present

There is but one Time: The Present.  Few people know the present and few people have an interest in the present.

Most people live either in the past or the future with barely a moment of their lives experienced in the present.  It usually takes an extreme situation to attract their attention into the present.

The present is simple and therefore hidden from the learned and prudent ones.  Simple people live in the present, but complex and busy ones do not know it.

What is the present?

It is not knowledge.  It is not belief.  It is not faith.  It is not trust.  It is not tomorrow.  It is not yesterday.  It is not philosophy.  It is not tradition.  It is not doctrine.  It is not theology. It is not from there and then.

The Present is awareness, it is feeling, it is sensitivity. It is sight, sound, smell, touch, taste, caring, hurting, anger, joy, and love.  It is motion, it is stillness.  It is a cry, a tear; it is laughter.  It is here, now.

You can not hold the present, but you hold in it.  You can not touch the Present, but you touch in it.

Living with the Spirit of the Present is like when you here the wind blows, but you know not where it come from or where it goes.

The Past offers you guilt and shame; The Future offers you fear; The Present offers you joy and love; the choice is yours. The power to choose comes with practice.
