The economy is a product of the attitude of the people, if the people are inspired and upbeat then the economy will be robust. If the people are discouraged the economy will be headed toward recession. The people are, to some extent or other, inspired or discouraged by their leaders. If their leaders are discouraging or depressing then the economy will follow suit.
Therefore. We need uplifting and inspiring leaders, leaders who inspire confidence, leaders who are open and honest, leaders who we can trust to tell us the truth when the times are rough. These leaders are no just political leaders but business leaders; the corporate CEOs & board members.
But leaders have to be more than honest, they have to have vision; they have to look into the future and tell us what they see. They can not just give us the hype of their dreams and wishes, they have to give us their perceptions of the future if we follow the status quo.
America’s confidence in its leaders, both political and business, has been challenged. We need to institute guidelines for responsibility for the information that corporations give their investors. The CEOs and board members should be criminally responsible for any misrepresentations that their companies make.
